Ensure that all your data and content, such as Confluence pages and tickets, are exclusively stored in the locations you choose. We'll explain the current available options for data residency in the Atlassian Cloud and what it means for you.
Data residency gives you more control over your data and allows you to ensure that content is stored in your preferred locations. In addition to GDPR compliance, companies often need to meet internal compliance requirements regarding data storage. Especially in regulated industries such as finance or healthcare, data residency is essential to use a cloud environment.
Data residency is available for Standard, Premium, and Enterprise Cloud subscriptions.
You can store your data in Atlassian's locations in the EU, the USA, Australia, Germany, or Singapore (starting from 2024). Atlassian is already planning additional locations for data residency.

The right location depends on your company's requirements or, in some cases, legal regulations based on your industry.
To find out where your data is currently located, simply follow these steps:
This will take you to a page that lists the products in your organization, the location of each product, and the AWS regions associated with each location. Under "Security > Data Residency," you can also select a new location for your products. You can find more information on this here.
As the Atlassian Marketplace primarily consists of third-party apps, Atlassian cannot currently guarantee data residency for these apps. This means that depending on the apps you use, your data may be stored outside the Atlassian network and, therefore, in different locations.
