What is ISO?

In brief, ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is an independent international organization that develops and publishes standards. Its goal is to establish globally recognized standards for various domains in order to enhance the efficiency, security, and quality of products, services, and systems.

ISO 27001 is a globally established standard for information security, defining the fundamentals for an information security system to protect the data of companies and customers. These standards are audited by independent third parties. According to ISO 27001, a company must have an information security management system, meaning a documented process for managing confidential company information, personnel procedures, and IT systems.
